Message from the President

It is an honor to welcome you to the official website of Delta Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) was founded on a mission comprised of five basic tenets that have remained unchanged since the sorority’s inception more than a century ago.  Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind".

Established in 1947, the Ladies of Delta Omicron Omega have remained devoted to the purposes and ideals that are the foundational principles of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated for over 68 years.  The Chapter has continuously initiated exemplary programs to address five Target Areas: 

  • Educational Enrichment

  • Health Promotion

  • Family Strengthening

  • Environmental Ownership

  • Global Impact 

We have developed and successfully implemented initiatives to support the challenges addressed by community needs to include:

  • Established a non-profit entity, Petals of Hope Foundation Inc.

  • Developed partnerships to provide food packs to needy children

  • Provided back-packs with school supplies to Title I Schools

  • Implemented high school enrichment in Orange and Osceola Counties (A.S.C.E.N.D.)

  • Campaigned to recruit scholars for HBCU institutions

  • Collaborated and participated with the City of Orlando’s Playground Mobilization

  • Our “Transport  To Care” fund raiser donated  to Florida Hospital for cancer patients

  • Adopt-A-Precinct Program 

We will continue the tradition, expand our programs, and implement with excellence.  It is our sincere goal to heighten our service to this community and all mankind.  It is my pleasure to lead and serve as chapter president.  I will remain committed to the Sorority’s ideals of sisterhood, scholarship, and service.
