Welcome to our website! We are pleased that you have decided to visit us and take the time to learn about our chapter, our members, and our program initiatives.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is an exemplary organization founded on a legacy of sisterhood and service. Our point of focus has shifted from time to time and will continue to do so as a necessary part of growth and change. However, the Sorority’s success for over a century ago is based on the depth of commitment, vision and confidence of its members.
Delta Omicron Omega Chapter is part of the South Atlantic Region. The chapter has been providing community services in Orlando since 1947. The membership has an abundance of meritorious women from various levels of professional, educational, and social backgrounds. We are proud to play a significant role in community-building by creating programs and associations.
Our members are committed to uniting our efforts to build a strong, cohesive organization that positively impacts the lives of families and communities. Our goal is to build, connect, and establish collaborative efforts in the community, while simultaneously providing “Service to All Mankind.”
Our International theme through the year 2014 is “Global Leadership through Timeless Service.” We are presently involved in programs that address the increasing demands of the 21st century: • Educate and expose our youth to innovative opportunities to secure a strong foundation and to achieve personal success • Raise awareness and education related to heart disease and stroke among women in minority populations • Empower women • Equip individual families with tools to use in making informed decisions on homeownership • Prepare future homeowners to address the challenges and reap the benefits associated with achieving the “American Dream” • Implement programs that increase awareness and knowledge about domestic violence within the African American community.
On behalf of the officers and members of Delta Omicron Omega Chapter, please don’t be a stranger to our website. We are an enthusiastic contributor to the community and as such frequent visitors can always find new relevant information on our site. ~ Lakye R. Waldon, President.
